Student Visa 500 entitles the holder to certain benefits while studying in Australia for a limited time. The holder of the Visa 500 is entitled to the following services:  

   

• The visa allows a student to enrol in a full-time CRICOS-registered course in Australia and ensures some provision and entitlement.  

• The visa allows the inclusion of family members, and it is available to students.  

• Students can work 40 hours per fortnight once the course begins.  

• The maximum time period for the visa is 5 years; however, this may change depending on the courses chosen.  

• The visa allows the holder to come and go as they deem fit for the next five years.  

  

Student Visa Eligibility Criteria

• Proof Of Enrollment- Students must enrol in a course on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).  

•  Multiple Courses- The student may apply for more than one course but must provide a (CoE) or Confirmation of Enrollment for each one. They must also mention it in their visa application; otherwise, the visa will only be issued for the specified course.  

•  Financial Stability- Applicants must provide legal proof of their financial capacity, demonstrating that they are able to pay their course fees and the living expenses of their dependent family members.  

• English Proficiency- Evidence of English language skills must be provided with the visa application or when asked by an officer, or the visa will be refused. 

• Welfare arrangements- Students under 18 must provide proof of organised welfare arrangements to stay in Australia.  

• Accompanying Family Members- Applicants and their family members can submit a joint application for a student visa or apply to join them later. It is critical to have the necessary funds on hand to support accompanying family members living in Australia, as well as those after the student visa is granted.
